Cutter class- cross between a frigate and a cruiser. Medium to long build time, short repair time. Fastest ship in game, very little strafe. 4 weapon slots, 2 special and one shield. Made to get in fast and strike. Could be used as a suicide fighter.

Arrester beam base weapon

medium to long range- does have dp damage. There will be three types. This beam will stall any class and speed ship making weapons easier to hit. No special announced but focus5 might work on it.

No picture for last item -Fusion Thrusters, A thruster with rear/rotation combo. three types.

I'm hoping the arrestor beam slows the decoy revs down enough to hit them with phase 5 kd's

According to Carter it stops it cold. No matter what you use. Rear, rotation and strafe. I want the cutter class. suicide run is right up my alley. Carter said it's so fast that you can run the cutter ship right next to a base and destroy the base if not guarded by short range weapons

I am wondering if Focus will extend the range of these arrestor beams since it's an energy weapon.

Info on event and prizes now released on Kix forum:

https://www.kixeye.com/forum/discussion/487825

I think it is very likely that focus can be added. I am thinking of going for arrestor beam 2, as the mass is just a little less than tachyon 2, then I can put it on the bridge with focus 5 and still have 2 x cap 3 and meta 3. The base range of 7000m + focus 5 will be awesome, and with it being on bridge I will only need 1.

I can just picture rearends line of revs trying to get through a gap in my mines, and getting completely derailed when the front one stops in its tracks lol.

7K range with an additional 1,250 range for focus5...you only need one really to be effective. Wondering if you have multiple arrestors if it will focus on separate vessels or on the closest one to them.

Here is a chart of how many fleets to get each prize, depending on level. This is off the Kix forums, so don't hold me accountable if it is incorrect.

Because I have 3 accounts I will get beam 3 on main and thruster 3 an alt with the other 2 slots taking the opposite lower tech , as for the 3rd account I may have to make do if I can't hit the top prize

Re: The next event from Vortex

Rebels,
Last night, KIXEYE.com, VEGA Conflict in particular, was subjected to a DDoS attack that created connectivity issues and crashes for all players between the hours of 7pm and 11pm PDT. A DDoS attack is, essentially, a flood of requests from bots on a website's servers that make intended services unavailable (more info here). The connection issues players experienced were not the fault of KIXEYE or Unity, but were rather the result of a coordinated effort by an individual to bring down our services. It's not a very nice thing to do, but we know who did it and we've alerted the authorities. DDoS attacks certainly sound a little scary, but don't worry. None of your personal data was affected and everything is back up now.
It's truly unfortunate that this would happen during a much-anticipated event (with some pretty badass prizes), so we've decided to extend the event by 24hrs. The new event end date will be August 12th at 3pm PDT. The event shop will close August 13th at 3pm PDT.
Additionally, we know that lots of players lost fleets due to disconnections. We can't guarantee that another DDoS attack won't happen during the event, but we can help out. Towards the conclusion of the event, we will give everyone who logged in on August 7th, 2014 PDT a small gift of gold to help in those final hours. More details to follow.
DDoS attacks aren't fun for anyone - especially for your Community Manager who had to leave halfway through Guardians of the Galaxy in IMAX 3D only to have the ending spoiled by his friends as they left the theater. Don't worry guys. I'll get through this.
In all seriousness, thank you very much for you patience and we all appreciate how understanding you've been.
- CarterGee
